In November, Michael Lyons Photography was again given the privilege of shooting the wedding of a fellow member of Team Ikon, David Cohen, and his new wife, Jennifer, previously, Jennifer Lopez. As I mentioned in my previous blog, I have a fear of heights. This wedding was on the 43rd floor of the Petroleum Club of Houston (hyperlink) and again my fears were tested.
I was more than thankful our teams earlier arrival. Shortly after, second shooter, Danh, informed me of my pale color. After a few personal “pep talks”, I was able to pull my thoughts from the massive height of the building, and focus them on the work to be done.

The Cohen/ Lopez wedding brought two very traditional wedding styles, Jewish and Catholic, together. This wedding created much inspiration in that I always find unique settings to inspire. As the event continued, so did my inspiration. The reception was a magnificent carnival theme which included face masks, meads, lights, and noise makers. I consider photography to be my art and I could not have hoped for a more perfect canvas.

Last October, Michael Lyons Photography shot its first “destination wedding”, in the great city of San Antonio, TX (hehe). The MLP team, Danh and I, departed Houston early in the morning and made our trip to San Antonio. Fortunately, we only found ourselves lost twice.
The wedding was at the beautiful San Antonio Garden Center ( http://www.sanantoniogardencenter.org/ ), and below are a few highlights from the wedding. Additionally, below you’ll find a few more of my favorite shots of the couple during their engagement session done here in Houston.
(I am “dealthy” scared of heights, but Dorian and Erica were lucky enough to convince me to ride the ferris wheel and get some great pictures!…what I wouldn’t do for my clients…)

Back in October I had the greatest pleasure of shooting two long time friends wedding, Danny & Diana.  I have known Danny since 2000 when I was in high school and joined his car club, Team Ikon, and after many years, they finally got married!!!  I also would like to mention what an amazing wedding venue that Asthton Gardens ( http://www.ashtongardens.com/ ) had built!  Without further wait, below are images from an engagment session and an amazing wedding!!

The Astros started out strong yesterday by beating the 1st place Cubs in the 9th inning. Hunter Pence came to the plate and was able to drive in Miguel Tejada from second.
